Raipur: Teenage girl who came to do household work raped, owner arrested

Raipur. The accused who raped a minor has been arrested. According to the police, because the accused threatened to kill the victim if she told her about the incident, the victim told her aunt about the incident after 4 days. After the incident came to the notice of the family, on 25/05/24, her aunt mother gave a written application on behalf of the victim to the police station. The houses of the accused and the victim are side by side. The victim used to do domestic work in the house of the accused. On the date of the incident, the accused went to the victim’s house and asked her to wash the utensils and sent the victim’s father to bring gutkha. Taking advantage of this, after finding the victim alone, he forcefully threatened her and had physical relations with her.

Threatened to kill if he told about the incident. On written application, crime was registered against the accused under section 376, 506 ICM and 4 POCSO Act. During investigation, accused Bhoj Ram Sahu was taken into police custody from his residence and came to the police station for questioning in relation to the incident. He admitted to committing the crime. On doing so, he was duly arrested and sent on judicial remand to Special Court, Raipur for 15 days. The victim’s mother has died and she lives alone with her father.
