Raipur South by-election result, counting of votes will start tomorrow at 8 am

Raipur. In view of Raipur South Assembly by-election 2024, General Observer Smt. G Rekha Rani and Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Gaurav Singh today inspected the strong room located at Government Engineering College Sejbahar. During this, he took information from the officials about the preparations for the counting of votes and reviewed all the necessary arrangements within the center. SSP Shri Santosh Kumar Singh was present on this occasion. The counting process will start at 8 am on Saturday 23 November 2024 and the counting will be completed in 19 rounds on 14 tables. Initially, postal ballots will be counted, after which EVMs received from polling stations will be counted. Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh informed that all preparations have been completed for the counting of votes and it will be ensured that the process is completed in a fair and transparent manner. He said that there will be arrangements for drinking water and lemonade at the center. SSP Shri Santosh Kumar Singh gave special instructions regarding security arrangements. He informed that adequate police force has been deployed and surveillance will be tightened in the strong room and surroundings. Apart from this, mobile phones, smartwatches, iPads, laptops, cameras and other electronic devices, tobacco products and other banned items will not be allowed at the counting center.

It is worth mentioning that if the counting of postal ballots takes more than half an hour, then counting will also start from EVM machines in parallel. All necessary preparations for counting have started.

The counting supervisor and counting assistant appointed for counting work in the counting center, persons authorized by the Commission, government officers and employees deployed on election duty, candidates, their polling agents and counting agents will be able to enter only with the issued entry pass. Counting agents will sit on their allotted table only and they will not be allowed to roam in the hall. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, police officers and employees will not be able to go to the counting room. If required, police officers or employees or security forces will be allowed to enter the counting room only on the call of the Returning Officer. It will be completely prohibited for any officer or employee or media representative including candidates, counting agents, counting personnel to carry mobile phones in the counting room. There will also be a media centre in the counting centre for media representatives having authorisation granted by the commission, where they can keep their mobile phones. Only hand-held cameras will be allowed for taking photographs by media personnel in the counting room instead of mobile phones.
