Raipur: Police tightened its grip on liquor transportation, three arrested

Raipur. Three people have been caught illegally transporting liquor. The team of Anti Crime and Cyber ​​Unit had received information that some persons riding two-wheelers were illegally transporting liquor in their two-wheelers in Police Station Arang area. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber ​​Unit and Arang police station, while locating the two-wheeler and persons of similar appearance mentioned by the informer, caught 03 persons riding a motorcycle near Ranisagar Tiraha. During interrogation the persons gave their names as Ajit Kumar, Harish Kumar and 01 child struggling with law. When the team members searched the bags kept with them, it was found that country liquor was kept in the bags.

When the three were asked for valid documents regarding transportation/possession of liquor, an attempt was being made to mislead the team members by not presenting any kind of document. On which the team members arrested both the accused and one child who was in conflict with the law and seized from their possession a total of 95 pauvas of country liquor and Activa vehicle number CG 04 NG 6463 worth approximately Rs 55,000/- used in transporting liquor and registered a case against the accused. Crime number 389/2024 under Section 34 (2) Excise Act was registered in Police Station Arang and action was taken.
