Raipur. Raipur police have solved the Gobra Nawapara murder case. On December 13, 2025, during the inquest and investigation of case number 94/2025 under Section 194 BNSS, it was found that the deceased, Santosh Sahu, son of the late Butiram Sahu, aged 42 years, a resident of Ward No. 4, Kodhipara, DD Nagar, Gobra Nawapara Police Station, Raipur district, was fatally attacked on December 11, 2025, by his son, Rahul Sahu, during a domestic dispute. Rahul Sahu, in a fit of rage, attacked his father with an iron sickle, causing serious injuries.

The deceased was given first aid at CHC Gobra Nawapara and then referred to Mekahara Hospital, Raipur, where he died during treatment on December 13, 2025, at 2:00 AM. Based on the investigation of the inquest, witness statements, post-mortem report, and doctor’s examination report, prima facie evidence indicated that the accused, Rahul Sahu, had committed the crime. Therefore, case number 481/2025 under Section 103 BNS was registered at Gobra Nawapara Police Station, and the investigation was initiated. During the investigation, the accused was located, taken into custody, and interrogated. In the presence of witnesses, he confessed to the crime and produced the sharp iron sickle with a wooden handle used in the incident, and the jacket he was wearing at the time of the incident, which had bloodstains. These items were seized as per the seizure memo, and the accused, Rahul Sahu, son of Santosh Sahu, aged 21 years, was formally arrested and sent to the Raipur court on remand.
