Raipur: Dispute over love affair became the reason for murder, disclosure in Tilda Nevra murder case

The lover accused Tarun Das Manikpuri who carried out the murder has been arrested. Rupendra Nirmalkar resident of Ward No. 14 Nevra filed a report in Tilda Nevra police station that his acquaintance Kamal Agarwal told him that his aunt Chita Nirmalkar lives in another house. When he went to his aunt’s house, he saw that his aunt Chita Nirmalkar was lying on the cot covered with a blanket. He called out two-three times but there was no response. Then he removed the blanket and saw that his aunt Chita Nirmalkar had a head injury, blood was oozing out and some blood had also fallen on the ground under the cot. She was lying dead. A case was registered in Tilda Nevra police station and the postmortem of the body was done. In the short postmortem report, the doctor wrote that the death of the deceased was due to suffocation caused by head injury and strangulation and the nature of death was recorded as homicidal. An unknown accused killed Chhita Bai by hitting her on the head with some object causing fatal injury and strangulating her. On the complaint of the applicant, a case number 332/25 under section 103(1) BNS was registered against the unknown accused in Tilda Nevra police station.

Under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Tilda Nevra police station started searching for the unknown accused by thoroughly inspecting the crime scene and questioning the applicant and the people around. Efforts were being made to identify the unknown accused by observing the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the crime scene and around it, as well as by using informers in the case. Meanwhile, the members of the team engaged in the arrest of the unknown accused received information that Tarun Das Manikpuri, resident of Tilda Nevra ward number 14, used to visit the house of the deceased and was last seen leaving the house of the deceased. On which the team members traced Tarun Das Manikpuri and caught him. On interrogation, he was continuously trying to mislead the team members by saying that he was not involved in the crime in any way, but on strict interrogation based on the evidence obtained, the accused accepted to have committed the said incident of murder.

During interrogation, the accused Tarun Das Manikpuri told that he used to visit the house of the deceased and there was a love affair between them. On the night of the incident 04.08.25, the accused went to the house of the deceased and there was a dispute between the two regarding the matter of love affair and when the dispute escalated, the accused got angry and hit the head of the deceased Chhita Bai with a wooden plank lying nearby, due to which she became unconscious, after this he killed her by strangulating her with his hands and went away from there. The accused Tarun Das Manikpuri was arrested and the stick used in the incident was confiscated from his possession and action was taken against the accused.
