Raipur Breaking: Lakhs stolen from priest’s house, case registered
Raipur. Raipur. The empty house of the priest of Gojbazaar Shani Mandir was burgled two days ago. The gold and silver crown of the deity, jewellery and Rs 90,000 in cash were stolen from the house. The unknown thief broke the lock of the empty house and stole it. Abhishek Sharma lodged a report in Tikrapara police station that he lives in Muskan Residency Pachpedi Naka. He is a priest in the ancient Shani Mandir Golbazar. On July 21, at around 6.30 pm, he had gone to the temple with his grandfather Hazari Lal Sharma after locking the house. After an hour, when he returned from the temple at around 7.30 pm, he saw that the lock of the main door of the house was broken. When he went inside, he saw that the household items were scattered.
When the puja room and cupboard were checked, a gold crown of the lord, 4 silver chains, 4 silver crowns, 11 silver coins, a silver anklet and cash of about 90,000 rupees kept in the box and bag, bank locker key, bank ATM card, total 1,50,000 rupees were missing. Some unknown thief has broken the lock of the main door of the house and stolen gold and silver items and cash from inside the room. They searched around but could not find him. Tikrapara police has registered a crime under 331-4, 305 against the unknown thief. The accused is being traced by interrogating the people around. Here, a report has been registered about a bike stolen during Ganesh tableau a year ago. Kamalkant Nirmalkar went to Kotwali police station and filed a report yesterday. Police said that the bike of Kamalkant Nirmalkar, resident of Durga Chowk Gudhiyari, was stolen during Ganesh tableau. He lodged a report of this at the police station yesterday. The police interrogated Kamal Kant about the incident and registered a case against the unknown thief and action is being taken.
