Raipur: 53 lakh cash seized, police got success in election checking
Raipur. During the election checking campaign, the police seized Rs 53 lakh in cash in three days. Last night, a joint team of police station and anti-crime and cyber unit was checking vehicles near Mandir Hasaud toll naka.
Meanwhile, when a car was checked, cash was found in the car. When the person in the car was interrogated, valid documents were not presented. The police seized the entire cash amounting to Rs 6 lakh 3 thousand and sent it to the Election Commission committee for further action.
Earlier also on Thursday, the police had seized Rs 6.78 lakh at the same toll point. Yesterday, Kotwali was checking the vehicles by setting up a checking point at Amba Devi Temple Sadar Bazaar in Pulil area. During this, a young man riding a scooter started running away in panic after seeing the police. When the trunk was stopped and checked, around Rs 40 lakh was found in it. He could not present any paper regarding the amount. Police confiscated the money.
