Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu: Chennai Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Tamil Nadu and surrounding areas in the coming days. According to the department, there is a possibility of moderate rain at some places in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu districts on Thursday (June 11). Along with this, a situation of thunder and lightning may also occur.

While issuing a press release in this regard on Wednesday, the Meteorological Department said that due to the formation of a low pressure area from central Bay of Bengal to coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and interior parts of Karnataka, there is a change in the weather. Under the influence of this weather system, rainfall activities are likely to increase over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal regions.

According to the department, from Thursday (June 11) to Friday (June 12), there may be moderate rain with thunderstorms at some places in these areas. During this period, incidents of lightning may also be seen, due to which people have been advised to remain alert.

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department also said that the extent of rain may increase further from Saturday (June 13) to June 16. During this period, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds at some places over the districts of Western Hill Region, North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Chances of rain are high in Chennai and surrounding districts especially on Thursday. The department has said that the weather may change suddenly in these areas and at some places there may be heavy rain along with lightning.

According to weather experts, this low pressure area is gradually strengthening and affecting the weather of the entire region. Its effect is likely to last for the next few days. Due to this, there may be intermittent rain in coastal and interior areas.

The Meteorological Department has advised people to take precautions during inclement weather and especially avoid being in open places. Farmers and fishermen have also been advised to plan their activities keeping in mind the weather conditions.

It is clear from this forecast that the weather in Tamil Nadu and surrounding areas may remain unstable in the coming days and thunderstorms with moderate rain will continue at many places.
