Rain in Odisha from March 19, Likely to Bring Relief from Sweltering Heat

Bhubaneswar: Rain in Odisha is likely to be witnessed on March 19 and is expected to bring a much needed relief from the sweltering heat. While the whole of Odisha is reeling under heat wave condition rain is expected from March 19 and 22 due to Kalbaisakhi.
It has been expected that Odisha will experience Kalbaisakhi between March 19 and 22. Water vapour-rich air is expected to enter the state atmosphere under the influence of a low-pressure system on the Odisha coast.
During this time a low-pressure system is likely to form in the upper part of the atmosphere, while a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal is likely to be on the Odisha coast.
It is likely that Kalabaisakhi will form when the warm air comes into contact. There will be thunder and lightning. The wind speed will also be high. The wind may blow at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour. The gusty wind speed is estimated to be 70 km. The Regional Meteorological Center has received information that hail is likely to fall in some areas during Kala Baisakhi.
