Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar honored women railway employees

Raipur/Delhi. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a grand felicitation ceremony was organized by Railway Women Welfare Central Organization (RWWCO) at National Rail Museum Auditorium, New Delhi. Chief guest of the ceremony, Chairman and CEO of Railway Board Satish Kumar felicitated 33 outstanding women employees selected from each zone, production unit (PU) and some public sector undertakings (PSUs) of Indian Railways. He said that women are contributing to the development of the country by working not only equal to men but more than them.
Highlighting the important role of women in Indian Railways, Satish Kumar said that the participation of women in Railways is not limited to the field of work, but they are an integral part of the strength and success of our organization. Their hard work, dedication and leadership have contributed significantly in taking Indian Railways to new heights. While reciting a poem, he said that Nari is respect, honour. Nari is the pride of our culture. Nari is power, devotion, Nari is the expression of Jeevan Jyoti.
On this occasion, the President of the organization (Dr.) Ruby Rani Singh discussed the various steps being taken by the Indian Railways to empower women employees, their safety at the workplace and to promote gender equality. On this occasion, many dignitaries including the Secretary of the organization Amrita Sharma, Treasurer Nirdeshak Singh and Joint Secretary Anjali Verma were present.
