Rail traffic will increase at Una station, passengers will get relief

Una. A big and very relief news has come out for the railway passengers of Una district of Himachal Pradesh and the development of the area. The Railway Board has given green signal to the operation of two important trains through district Una to the newly constructed Kartauli Railway Station of Punjab. Under this decision, the famous Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Himachal Express has now been extended to the nearest station Kartauli in Punjab (Talwara). Along with this, formal orders have also been issued to start a brand new Daily Express Train between Kartauli and Ambala City. After the implementation of these two big decisions, the total number of daily trains operating through Una district will increase from 10 to 11, which will give a new dimension to the rail connectivity of this entire region. After getting the green signal from the Time Table Committee of the Railway Board, Northern Railway has now completed all administrative and technical preparations for operating these services. With the issuance of the official order, the way for these two trains to run on the tracks has been completely cleared. It is expected that Northern Railway will soon announce the last date of regular operation of these two trains. It is noteworthy that the Railways had recently extended the Gurmukhi Express up to Amb-Andaura station, after which this is the second major extension on the Una route, which shows the increasing priorities of the Railways towards this region. The biggest gift for the passengers in this entire expansion is the extension of Himachal Express up to Kartauli. According to the new timetable released by the Railway Board, Himachal Express (train number 14553) will depart from the country’s capital New Delhi daily at 10:50 pm. This train, traveling overnight, will reach its old last stop Daulatpur Chowk at 7:20 am the next day and will proceed from there and end its journey at Kartauli station at 7:50 am. Whereas, in the return journey, this train will depart from Kartauli Railway Station at 8:55 pm daily and will reach New Delhi Railway Station at 5:00 am the next day. This timing will provide immense convenience to the working people, businessmen and tourists traveling daily between Delhi and Una. On the other hand, the new daily express train starting between Kartauli and Ambala City will also prove to be a milestone for the local passengers. This new train will not only directly connect the people of Una and border areas of Punjab to major junctions like Ambala, but will also make travel to Chandigarh and other cities of Punjab extremely convenient. With the introduction of this train, the pressure of rail traffic at Una station will not only increase but the passengers will also get an additional and economical option for travelling. This new arrangement will directly benefit thousands of passengers from Una district of Himachal Pradesh as well as nearby rural and urban areas of Talwara and Kartauli of Punjab. The connection of trains from the new railway station Kartauli will boost business activities and the local people will also get new employment opportunities. Railway officials say that the number of trains on the Una route being 11 is a proof that the department is committed to strengthening the infrastructure in this hilly and border region. At present, the people of the area are now waiting for that historic day when both these trains will be flagged off.
