Raigarh police’s special team caught absconding warrantee in Delhi
Raigarh. On the directions of SP Divyang Kumar Patel, the Kotwali police arrested the absconding warrantee Laxmeshwar Thakur from Mayur Vihar area of New Delhi and brought him to Raigarh. The cunning warrantee Laxmeshwar Thakur had dodged the police several times and used to hide on the inkling of the arrival of the police. According to the information, 10 complaints have been filed against the accused in the court of Hon’ble Judicial Magistrate First Class Raigarh (Chhattisgarh) Shri Praveen Mishra. In these cases, 01 bailable and 09 non-bailable warrants were issued against the accused.
The Hon’ble Court directed the Superintendent of Police Raigarh to execute the warrant on 07 August 2025. Under this, the Superintendent of Police ordered the police station in-charge Kotwali Sukhnandan Patel to take immediate action. After obtaining permission, on 22 August 2025, the police team led by Sub Inspector Dilip Kumar Behera left for New Delhi.
The police team traced the location of the accused with technical help and arrested the warrantee by raiding with the help of Mayur Vihar police station late night on 25 August 2025. After this, on 27 August 2025, the accused was produced in the court of Raigarh, from where the warrantee has been lodged in jail on jail warrant. It is worth noting that Kotwali police action has been taken in the case of Laxmeshwar Thakur resident Delhi cheating a businessman of Raigarh by luring him with 30% quarterly profit on depositing money in an investment company (Crime No. 656/2020, Section 406, 420 IPC), this case is pending in the court.
In compliance with the warrant issued in 10 complaints, the role of Police Station Kotwali in-charge Sukhnandan Patel, Sub Inspector Dilip Kumar Behera, Head Constable Shriram Sahu, Constable Murali Manohar Patel and Cyber Cell Constable Dhananjay Kashyap has been commendable in the investigation and arrest proceedings of the warrantee. This action of the police has sent a message of strict stand against absconding warrants.
