Raigarh: Body of teenager who was swept away in river found

On Monday afternoon, Pappu Chauhan, son of Prakash Chauhan, aged 17 years, living in Daroga Para, went to take bath with his three friends. Due to continuous rain and rising water level of the dam, the gate of Kelo dam was opened. During this, the teenager, who was busy taking bath, got swept away by the strong current of water at around 5 pm. chhattisgarh news

After this incident, his friends, scared, searched for him on their own but could not find anything about the teenager. After that, the three youths came home at night. When he did not come home till late night, the worried relatives searched for him. Then, as soon as they got to know about the entire incident, the ground slipped under their feet. In such a situation, the relatives went to meet Minister OP Chaudhary at night, where the minister instructed the SP and other responsible officers to search for Pappu.

On Tuesday morning from 5 am, 12 members of the diving team started the search in two boats. The search was conducted from Pachdhari to Kayaghat Rapta culvert. Even after the rescue operation continued till late evening, no trace of him could be found. During this time, the Finance Minister and SP themselves reached the spot. They kept giving directions to the rescue team. But due to darkness, no success was achieved. In such a situation, as soon as the rain stopped, the gate of Kelo dam was closed to normalize the water level. Meanwhile, the rescue operation was carried out by the team of divers from Wednesday itself. Where the body was recovered from the Kelo river behind Devanand Dharamshala at around 8 am. At present, the rescue team has sent the body of the deceased to the district hospital for post-mortem. A large number of relatives and residents of the locality are present in the district hospital.
