Raids in 6 places, illegal liquor worth 8 lakhs recovered

Bilaspur. The Excise Department raided six different places on Sunday and recovered Mahua Lahan and illegal liquor worth about Rs 8 lakh. This Mahua Lahan was hidden in the bathroom and water tank for making liquor. A total of 62 cases were registered in this raid and 4 people were arrested. 131 liters of Mahua liquor and 6960 kg of Mahua Lahan were seized from their possession.
Apart from this, 50 liters of Mahua liquor and 960 kg of Mahua Lahan were seized from village Amne and 70 liters of Mahua liquor were seized from the forest of Dhuma. A case has also been registered against unknown accused.
The Excise Department team raided village Dhuma Chowki Junapara while running a campaign against illegal liquor in Takhatpur and Kota. Here 9 drums of Mahua Lahan hidden in the bathroom and water tank were seized. Apart from this, one drum of Lahan was also recovered from the courtyard. Actually, Excise Commissioner R Sangeeta had recently held a meeting of the division’s officials. She had given instructions to take strict action against illegal liquor. This action was taken under the instructions of Collector Avnish Kumar Sharan and guidance of Assistant Commissioner Navneet Tiwari.
