Python targeted, defecating in the open proved costly, villagers raised voice

Jabalpur: A shocking incident has come to light from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. When a villager went to the forest for defecation, a 15-foot long python attacked him. The python tried to swallow the man by wrapping its tail around his neck but could not succeed. To save himself, the man started making noise by holding the mouth of the python. Hearing the screams, many villagers reached the spot and were stunned to see this horrifying scene.

This viral video is from Kalyanpur village of Kundam tehsil, 40 km from Jabalpur district headquarters. On Sunday morning, a person had gone to the forest for defecation. During this time, a 15-foot long python grabbed his neck. Then the python opened its mouth to let the man out. But showing courage, the man caught the mouth of the python and started making noise. Hearing the voice of the man, many villagers reached the spot.

The villagers did not have any means to drive away the python, due to which they killed the python using axes, stones and other sharp weapons. On this matter, forest department officials say that according to the rules, if an animal is killed to save someone’s life, then it does not come under the category of crime. Ranger forest officer Mahesh Chandra Kushwaha said that the villagers have killed the python to save a person’s life. Therefore, no legal action will be taken.

Victim Ram Sahai said that at first he did not understand anything. He saw that the python was trying to grab him. Ram Sahai struggled for 20 minutes to save himself. But by then the python had made its grip. The python had tightened its noose on both the legs of Ram Sahai. After this, Ram Sahai caught the mouth of the python and started shouting loudly. The villagers reached the spot and somehow freed Ram Sahai.
