Punjab: Youth attacked with swords, 2 accused arrested

Punjab: Two masked youths attacked a 26-year-old man with swords and injured him in Giddanwali village, 18 km from here. The victim Karamjit Singh was admitted to Abohar Civil Hospital. After first aid, when his condition became critical, he was referred to GGS Medical College Hospital, Faridkot. Karamjit Singh said that last night both the youths, wearing masks, knocked on the door of his house. When he opened the door, they attacked him with swords, causing serious injuries to one of his hands. When he called for help, people gathered at the spot and overpowered the fleeing attackers. Later, both were handed over to the police at Khuian Sarwar police station. The injured youth was brought to Abohar and admitted to the government hospital, where he got 25 to 30 stitches on his hand. Seeing his critical condition, he was referred to Faridkot. Khuian Sarwar police station in-charge Paramjit said that both the accused are being questioned. The statement of the victim Karamjit Singh will be recorded and further action will be taken accordingly.
