Punjab: Woman shot in Bathinda
Punjab: A newly-wed woman was shot at while she was on a morning walk with her husband in Bhagata Bhai Ka town of Bathinda district on Tuesday morning. Harpreet Kaur and her husband Arshdeep Singh were near the grain market when some unidentified bike-borne men opened fire on them. The bullet hit her leg. She was rushed to a local civil hospital from where she was referred to Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Civil Hospital in Bathinda.
Arshdeep Singh told police that the assailants came on a motorcycle. One of them had covered his face while the other had a gun. He fired at Harpreet Kaur and the bullet hit her leg. Arshdeep denied having any enmity with anyone. SP (city) Narender Singh said a case has been registered and investigation is underway. SHO of Bhagata Bhai Ka police station Harbans Singh Maan said a thorough probe was being conducted into the incident. He said the culprits would be nabbed soon.
