Punjab: Veterinarians operated on a cow and removed polythene

Punjab: Veterinarians had to be called to provide relief to a stray cow kept in a government animal husbandry home in Salemshah village, near Fazilka. Officials said that along with Animal Husbandry Veterinary Officer Dr. Ankita Dhuriya, Dr. Amarjeet, Dr. Lekhika Karni Kheda and Dr. Rishabh Jajoria were called from Civil Veterinary Hospital Ladhuka. They operated on the stomach of the sick cow. A large amount of polythene sheets and carry bags were removed during the operation. They said that the cow is healthy after the operation. Animal Husbandry Home Committee members Dinesh Modi and Rakesh Kumar Chawla thanked the team of doctors. The veterinarians who performed the operation said that they are always ready to serve cattle and animals promptly. Assistant Directors of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Mandeep Singh and Dr. Gurcharan Singh appealed to the people not to use polythene sheets and polybags. He said products made from such materials have been banned as they harm the environment as well as livestock.
