Punjab: The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha are studying the report of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture headed by Jalandhar MP Charanjit Singh Channi and submitting their viewpoint. However, they said the report appears to be “positively written”. Haryana farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar, who is camping at the Khanauri dharna site where the indefinite fast of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal entered the 27th day today, said as per Dallewal’s direction, his teams are studying the 550-page report submitted by fasting farmer leader Charanjit Singh Channi the previous day. Kohar said the report is in six sections. In the first section, it was mentioned that a minimum support price (MSP) guarantee law should be enacted.
The report also spoke of the welfare of agricultural workers by recommending the formation of a “National Commission for Minimum Living Wages for Agricultural Workers”. He said that the report also stressed that policies related to export and import of agricultural produce should be made after detailed discussions with the farmers. He said that a candle march will be taken out in support of the demands of the farmers on December 24 in the evening. He said that the people participating in it will carry posters of Dallewal in their hands. A doctor who examined Dallewal said that his condition is very serious. He said that discussions will be held with senior doctors in this regard. Meanwhile, former Sangrur MP Vijay Inder Singla and Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr. Amar Singh reached Khanauri Dharna site on Sunday to meet Dallewal and know about his health.
