Punjab: Student found dead in university hostel room

Punjab: The body of Shubham, a first year B.Pharma student of Punjabi University, was found hanging from a fan in his hostel room. Police have started investigating the case after receiving information from the university administration. The victim belonged to Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh and had taken admission in the university earlier this year.
Police said they have informed his parents about the incident and prima facie, are considering it a suicide. “When we entered the hostel room, his body was found hanging from the fan and the door was locked from inside. We have questioned some of his friends,” police said.
