Punjab: Rain likely from November 4-6

Punjab: After dry weather and warm nights prevailing over the region for the past several days, a turn in the weather is on the cards with a western disturbance expected to hit Himalayan region on the night of November 3.
“Under the influence of a western disturbance, light to moderate rainfall or snowfall is likely over Northwest India from November 4-5,” a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department said.
While most days during October were dry in Punjab, the monthly rainfall was significantly above normal. From October 1 till October 31, the state received 30 mm rain compared to the long period average of 8.1 mm, accounting for a surplus of 271 per cent.
While day temperatures in Punjab are near normal, the night temperatures are 2-3 degrees above normal.
The minimum temperature recorded by the weatherman in the state during the past 24 hours ranged from 15.5 degrees Celsius at Faridkot to 18.1 degrees Celsius at Mohali.
