Punjab: Patwari arrested while taking bribe of Rs 25,000

Punjab: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Friday arrested Anil Narula, a patwari posted in Jassiyan revenue circle in Ludhiana district, while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000. The arrest was made following a complaint by Major Singh of New Amar Nagar in Ludhiana city. The complainants approached the bureau and alleged that the said person had demanded Rs 25,000 from them to provide 25 years of revenue records for mutation of their ancestral land. The patwari was arrested red-handed while accepting the bribe.
