Punjab: One person arrested on charges of spying in Bathinda Cantt

Punjab: Police have arrested a man on suspected charges of spying in Bathinda military cantonment. The Cantonment Police Station has registered a case against the accused and started investigating the matter. However, sources said that the initial investigation has not yet revealed whether the man was sending information of the Bathinda military base to Pakistan or not. It has come to light that the accused was in contact with a Pakistani woman and various aspects of the case are being investigated to find out the truth. The arrested person is a cobbler by profession and was living in Beant Nagar near Bathinda Cantonment for many years. The accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar, 26, a resident of Samastipur, Bihar. At present, the police is interrogating him by detaining him at a secret location for questioning. SP City Narinder Singh said that the Cantonment Police had received information about some suspicious material on Sunil Kumar’s mobile phone, which also includes evidence of honeytrap. A case has been registered in this regard.
