Punjab: One killed, five injured in accident

Punjab: One person was killed and five others injured in two separate road accidents in Abohar on Thursday. Three people were injured when a car and a motorcycle collided near Khuiyan Sarwar village, around 15 km from Abohar. The victims, Kartar, Gulshan and Hans Lal were residents of Sappanwali village. They were returning home after work in Khuiyan Sarwar. The three were thrown off the road after being hit by a speeding Alto car, leaving them seriously injured. The injured were first rushed to Abohar Civil Hospital where they were given first aid and then referred to Bathinda.

Despite medical efforts, Kartar later succumbed during treatment. Kartar left behind four children. In a separate incident, a jeep’s tyre burst near Baganwali village on Abohar-Fazilka road on Thursday afternoon, causing it to collide with a Punjab Roadways bus and then hit a roadside tree. Three people travelling in the jeep were injured and were rushed to the civil hospital by the Road Safety Force team for treatment. The injured have been identified as decorator Vikas, his brother Ravinder and their friend Pawan Kumar of Chuhdiwala Dhanna village. They were going to Jorkian village to remove decorations from a recent function.
