Punjab: More than 28,000 narcotic pills seized, case registered against six

Punjab: Health department and police teams conducted a joint operation and raided several medicine shops and seized a huge quantity of narcotic pills. The health department team led by drug inspector Sonia Gupta raided M/s Nitin Medical Store and seized 17,180 pills and 260 narcotic capsules, following which Raman Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor were booked under Section 223 of the BNS.
In another raid, 11,111 narcotic pills and 1,188 capsules were seized from M/s PK Medical Agency, following which its owners Pawan Kumar and Raj Badwar were booked. The team led by drug inspector Ramandeep Gupta seized 200 narcotic pills from Aulakh Medical Store in Behram village of Lakho. The police have booked its owners Angrez Singh and Rakesh Kumar under Section 223 of the BNS. CMO Rajwinder Kaur said that strict legal action will be taken against any chemist found selling banned drugs without proper documentation.
