Punjab: Ministers paid obeisance at the Golden Temple; Jathedar Gurgaj raised the case of Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar.

Punjab: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today paid obeisance at the Golden Temple along with five cabinet ministers. Gupta was accompanied by ministers Pravesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra, Ravinder Inderjit, and Manjinder Singh Sirsa. The delegation expressed gratitude for the successful organization of the events held in Delhi to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur. During her visit, CM Rekha Gupta also met with the acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj. According to Jathedar Gargaj, he raised the issue of granting clemency to Sikh prisoner Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar with the Chief Minister. He said that CM Rekha Gupta assured him that she would take up the matter with the concerned authorities. After paying obeisance, Gupta said that she had come to offer ‘Shukrana’ (thanksgiving) after the successful organization of the 350th martyrdom anniversary program of Guru Tegh Bahadur at Delhi’s Red Fort.
CM Gupta also performed voluntary service (seva). This was her first visit to the holy site after becoming Chief Minister. Gupta described the Golden Temple not only as a heritage monument but also a divine center of spiritual energy and selfless service, a place where faith transforms into action and devotion shapes character. Speaking to the media, she said, “There was fear in people’s minds due to the recent attack outside the Red Fort, and before the event, we had prayed that everything would go smoothly and no one would face any inconvenience. Today, I have come to express my gratitude that no one faced any difficulties during the entire program.” In a post on X, Gupta said, “My heart is filled with contentment after paying obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib. May Waheguru Ji shower his blessings on all.” Sirsa wrote in a post on X, “Today, I felt immense peace of mind after visiting this holy place, and I also experienced the boundless presence and tranquility of the Almighty.” He also visited Durgiana Temple and Ram Tirath during his visit to the city.
