Punjab: Minister launches drainage project
Punjab: Local Bodies Minister Dr Ravjot Singh on Tuesday visited several villages of Shamchurasi block and inaugurated a community centre at Dallewal village. The minister inaugurated a new tubewell at Khalwana village and also launched a drainage project. Dr Ravjot said development works have been initiated to provide basic amenities to the residents. He said the Punjab government has added 492.15 million litres per day (MLD) capacity in sewage treatment plants (STPs), taking the state’s total capacity to 2,634.15 MLD. He said 52 more STPs with a total capacity of 607 MLD were being set up at a cost of Rs 650 crore.
