Punjab Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar Resigned Amid Row Over Officials Suicide

He mentioned the name of Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar. He alleged that he was pressured to give a tender to the minister’s assistant, but instead he chose the right bidder. This video clip went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, opposition parties in Punjab have slammed the ruling AAP government. Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has accused Gagandeep Singh Randhawa of being forced to accept a bribe of Rs 10 lakh. He has criticized the official for being summoned to the minister’s house, beaten up and trying to record a video.

On the other hand, in the wake of this controversy, Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar resigned from his post on Saturday. He said that the allegations made against him are completely baseless and false. ‘Our party always upholds the truth. It stands for the truth. That is why I want an investigation into the allegations made against me. Until this investigation is completed, I request the party and the Chief Minister to accept my resignation from the post of minister,’ he said.
