Punjab: Man dies due to poisoning

Punjab: Mahendra Nath, 60, of Bishanpura village died after accidentally consuming a poisonous substance. Nath, who belonged to the Nath sect and went from village to village selling herbal medicines, fell ill yesterday evening and was admitted to a private hospital. Despite medical efforts, he died at around 4 am on Sunday. According to Vinod, a relative of the deceased, Mahendra Nath was a father of three children and was in the business of selling herbal medicines for many years. The cause of death is believed to be accidental consumption of poison. His body has been kept in the mortuary of Abohar Civil Hospital for post-mortem and the police are further investigating the case.
