Punjab: ‘Insta Queen’s’ partner taken on 3-day remand

Punjab: Balwinder Singh alias Sonu, the accomplice of dismissed woman constable Amandeep Kaur, who was arrested with drugs on April 2, was produced in court here on Tuesday. The court sent him to three-day police custody. According to the police, Sonu is linked to a network of drug smugglers. He played a key role in the gang and was Amandeep’s closest associate. The gang was allegedly involved in drug smuggling and supply across the state.
Sonu had escaped from Bathinda court on April 4 after attacking his wife in the court premises. Finally, the police managed to arrest him and produced him in court on Tuesday. Police officials said Sonu will be questioned about the drug smuggling network and supply chain. Officials hope that his interrogation may lead to major revelations.
