Punjab: Income Tax Department extended the Dispute to Trust Scheme till January 31

Punjab: The Income Tax Department has called upon entrepreneurs to avail maximum benefit of the ‘Vivaad se Vishwaas Scheme’ by depositing taxes by January 31. Dr Rishi Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Ludhiana, made this appeal during a meeting with professionals including Chartered Accountants (CAs) and Income Tax lawyers of the district. Convener of the programme Mandeep Dutt said that a meeting of Income Tax professionals was held following the directions of Lal Chand, Chief Commissioner, Income Tax, Amritsar and Surinder Kumar, Principal Commissioner, Income Tax-1, Ludhiana. He said that the last date of ‘Vivaad se Vishwaas Scheme’ has been extended to January 31. Highlighting the salient features of the scheme, Rishi Kumar, Vrindra Singh and Mandeep Dutt called upon CAs and IT lawyers to motivate their clients to deposit the outstanding taxes on time. Taxpayers were also asked to update income tax returns without any delay as unauthorised exemptions and TDS deductions are also being checked by the department.
