Punjab: Governor Kataria approved the bill

Punjab: Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has approved the Punjab Panchayati Raj Amendment Bill, which was passed by the Assembly earlier this month. This will help the government hold elections to 13,241 panchayats in the state next month. The government is keen to hold panchayat elections in mid-October, followed by panchayat samiti and zila parishad elections.
