Punjab: Drone crashes near international border, packets of heroin recovered

Punjab: A Pakistani drone fell in a field in Chak 11-F village, a short distance from Sheikhsarpal village near the Pakistan border in Sriganganagar sector late last night. A packet of half a kg heroin was found at some distance from the drone. Officials said that after the incident, a search operation was carried out in the surrounding fields by the Border Security Force, police and intelligence agencies with the help of villagers, in which no suspicious object was found. Police sources said that due to the jammer recently installed to stop drones coming from across the border, the drone fell in Indian territory about 700 meters inside the international border at around 11:30 pm last night. The BSF patrol team saw sensor lights flashing in a field. When the jawans reached the field, the drone was found there.
