Punjab: Distributed winter clothes to the needy, provided assistance

Punjab: In a heart-warming move, a group of transgender individuals came together to provide essential winter clothes to people living in slums and near the railway station, where neither government organisations nor NGOs had extended any assistance. Led by Mahant Ganga Mai, along with Puja Solanki, Mohini, Preeti and Sonia, the group reached out to self-built huts in areas lacking infrastructure such as tin-sheet roofs and power supply near the new Anaaj Mandi. They distributed blankets, shawls and other winter clothes to the residents, many of whom did not have proper footwear. The group continued its mission by reaching out to people near the railway station, including those living under overbridges or in the goods yard. They also assisted labourers waiting for construction work outside the main market and provided them with warm clothes. As part of its “Mission Seva”, the group visited the 100-bed Subdivision Civil Hospital to distribute biscuits and other food items to the patients and wished them a speedy recovery. Mahant Ganga Mai also expressed her desire to extend assistance to financially deprived families during the marriage ceremonies of their daughters.
