Punjab: Deported man went ‘missing’ from home, police brought him back
Punjab: A day after her dreams were shattered after her son was deported from the US, the mother of 40-year-old Davinderjit Singh suffered another setback. Her son went missing in the morning. However, the police traced him and brought him back home in the evening. Davinderjit, deported from the US, reached Jalandhar’s Landra village last night. He was dropped by the patwari at 10 pm on Wednesday and at 5 am he went missing. His mother Balbir Kaur said, “My son returned home last night and was very upset. At 5 am he left on a bike without telling anything.” The Phillaur administration and police have launched a search for him. Apara DSP Sarwan Singh Bal said, “The youth was depressed. He had just gone to meet relatives. Since he did not tell his mother, they thought he had gone missing. Police teams are at his house and he is with them.” Davinderjit’s father had passed away a few years ago. The family had spent lakhs to send him abroad. He told that Davinderjeet had left home for Dubai two months ago. Later they came to know that he had reached America.
