Punjab: Criminal opened fire on police team, got shot in the leg

Punjab: A suspected criminal opened fire on police near Buhara village in SBS Nagar, where he was taken for weapon recovery on Thursday night. The suspect, Amandeep of Garupur village, was injured in retaliatory firing by police.

A police team had taken Amandeep to a canal in Buhara village, where he had allegedly hidden a pistol used in a previous crime. During the operation, Amandeep recovered the weapon and opened fire on the police team. The policemen fired in self-defence and one of the bullets hit Amandeep’s leg.
