Punjab: Case registered against actor Sunny Deol
Punjab: An FIR has been filed here against crew members of recently released film ‘Jaat’ Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh and two others. The film’s director Gopichand Malineni and producer Naveen Malineni have also been booked. The film was released on April 11. Complainant Vicloff Gold alleged that the film crew showed disrespect towards Jesus Christ.
2 associates of gangster Landa arrested
The Anti-Gangster Task Force and Tarn Taran police on Friday arrested two associates of gangster Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike and Satta of Naushera Pannua after a brief encounter near Jawanda village. The accused have been identified as Yuvraj Singh Jagga and Mehakpreet Singh. Police have seized two pistols and cartridges from them. They were responsible for firing on Sarpanch Gurpreet Singh of Naushera Pannua on March 21, SSP Abhimanyu Rana said.
Two killed in road accident’: Two youths were killed when an SUV overturned near Chakerian village in Mansa. Two others were seriously injured in the accident. One of the deceased, Gagan Singh, had returned from the US for his wedding which took place three months ago. The other victim, Aman Singh, was Gagan’s cousin. The accident took place late at night when the youths were returning to their village from Mansa. It is said that the driver lost control of the vehicle after a dog suddenly came in front of the SUV.
Crop survey orders cancelled
The SDM of Anandpur Sahib has cancelled the orders of April 17 regarding the deployment of government school teachers for “digital crop survey” in the constituency of the Education Minister with immediate effect. A letter has been sent to the concerned officials in this regard.
