Punjab: Bikram Majithia appeared in court in defamation case

Punjab: Senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia today appeared in a local court in a defamation case filed against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh.He claimed that Sanjay Singh did not appear in court today and kept avoiding the hearing. Majithia had filed a case against AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Ashish Khaitan and Sanjay Singh for allegedly making derogatory remarks against him during political rallies during the 2017 assembly elections.

He said he has already forgiven Arvind Kejriwal and Ashish Khaitan after they apologised in court. Majithia had filed a case against AAP leaders-Arvind Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh and Ashish Khaitan in May 2016. Kejriwal had apologised to Majithia for his statements. However, Sanjay Singh refused to apologise and decided to face the trial.
