Punjab: Ahmadiyya community celebrates Musleh Maud Day

Punjab: A function was held at Ahmadiyya Mosque, Purani Kanak Mandi today to celebrate Musleh Maud Day, which was attended by a delegation from Qadian, District Gurdaspur, led by Azhar Khadim. The programme was attended by members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat. The function began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Ismail, after which Azhar Khadim in his address shared the historic significance of Hoshiarpur in the history of the Ahmadiyya community. He said that it was here in 1886 that the founder of Ahmadiyya Jamaat, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Sahib, performed intense Ibadat for 40 days, which led to the ‘Prophecy of Musleh Maud’.
This prophecy, which predicted the birth of a son with 52 distinctive qualities, was published on February 20, 1886. Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad Sahib, who was born on January 12, 1889, was identified as the promised son. Despite limited early education, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad wrote over 200 books and led the Jamaat for 52 years. Under his leadership, the Ahmadiyya Jamaat expanded to over 200 countries around the world. Other notable guests at the event included Akhtar Hussain Gaddi, Nasir Tariq and Saddam Hussain.
