Punjab: A person was duped of Rs 11 lakh, case registered against 2 people
Punjab: Bhawanigarh police have registered a case against a man and his son for duping a resident of Bharaj village of Rs 11 lakh in the name of sending him to Australia. In his complaint to the police, Pawanjit Singh, a resident of Bharaj, said that a man from Mohali and his son took Rs 16 lakh from him in the name of sending him to Australia but did not fulfil the promise. They returned Rs 5 lakh but did not give the rest of the amount. He alleged that instead, the two started threatening him. Police have registered a case under sections 420 and 406 of the IPC and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professionals Act.
