Punjab: 45 new cases of stubble burning reported

Punjab: The state reported 45 farm fire incidents on Saturday, with Patiala recording the highest number of 15 incidents. With this, the total number of farm fires recorded so far in the state has gone up to 1,393. On Saturday, 45 active farm fire incidents were captured by satellite in the state. On the same day (October 19) in 2022, 436 such incidents were recorded. The number was 37 on the same date in 2023. Patiala recorded 15 incidents, followed by Amritsar (seven), Ferozepur (six), Gursadpur (four), Sangrur (three), Kapurthala and Moga (two each). One case each was reported from Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Malerkotla, Muktsar and Tarn Taran. Of the total 1,393 cases reported so far, Amritsar topped the list with 430 incidents, followed by Tarn Taran (254) and Patiala (168).
