Pune: Woman held hostage and raped to force religious conversion
Maharashtra: A 32-year-old woman was kept in a house after being threatened to convert to Islam. After the threat, the woman was raped. In this case, a case has been registered against three people including a woman and they have been arrested. The 32-year-old victim woman has lodged a complaint in this regard at the Airport Police Station. According to the complaint she has given, Santosh Ramdas Gaikwad (age 55, resident in front of Vitthal temple, Dhanori), Sagar Madhukar Landge (age 30, resident Gali No. 3, Madhavnagar, Dhanori) and a woman have been arrested. According to the police, the accused and the victim are acquaintances. The accused pressured the victim to convert.
They called her to Dhanori area. Santosh Gaikwad and Sagar Landge kept her in the house of the accused woman in Dhanori. After this, both of them threatened the victim with a pistol and threatened to kill her. After this, the accused Sagar Landge took the victim to Lohegaon area. There he kept her in a room. The victim said in her complaint that he threatened the woman and harassed her repeatedly. A case of rape and possession of illegal weapons has been registered against the accused in this case. Three people, including the woman, have been arrested and Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Dhamane is investigating.
