Pune: Bajrang Dal tried to stop the Dandiya program

Maharashtra: Various programs are organized on the occasion of Navratri festival across the country. Big events are organized for Garba, Dandiya. However, it is coming to light that some organizations are opposing such programs. Now NCP MP Supriya Sule has claimed that Bajrang Dal tried to stop an event in Pune. She has warned Bajrang Dal about this.

“Bajrang Dal workers tried to stop the Dandiya program on the occasion of Navratri at Chirag Garden in Baramati. Such hooliganism has never happened in Baramati. We have not tolerated this ‘moral policing’ before and will not tolerate it in future either. Supriya Sule has appealed that the police should take strict action against those doing such business.

Also, Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Chaubey has warned that strict action will be taken if women are molested at the place where Dandiya and Garba are played during Navratri festival. The Police Commissioner has also ordered the officers and staff of the police station, crime branch to patrol on foot to avoid any kind of accident in crowded places during the Navratri festival.

Necessary arrangements should be made in and around the place where dandiya is played during the Navratri festival. Parks, open grounds, public crowded places should be patrolled. Police Commissioner Choubey also advised that care should also be taken to ensure that stray animals do not roam in crowded places.

Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal activists have tried to stop such programs at various places across the country. Navratri festival has been organized in Indore’s Bhawarkuwa area for the last 35 years. The organizer of the program, Firoz Khan, has been accused of promoting love jihad. The local Bajrang Dal alleged, “This program is used to promote relations between Hindu women and Muslim men.” They have also lodged a complaint with the police in this regard.
