Puducherry election results: Chief Minister wins from Thattanchavady seat, AIADMK’s Anbazhagan also wins

Tamil Nadu: With the results of the Puducherry Assembly elections being announced, the political picture is becoming clearer. The Election Commission of India has announced that Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy has won the Thattanchavady constituency, the same seat from which he contested this time.

The election process concluded on April 9, with a total voter turnout of 91.23 percent. This voter turnout is considered quite high for the Union Territory, and election officials have expressed satisfaction. Following the voting, the counting process is now underway amid tight security.

According to the administration, electronic voting machines (EVMs) from a total of 1,099 polling stations in Puducherry have been placed in six separate counting centers under tight security. These machines were sealed under a three-tier security system, which included the deployment of central security forces, local police, and surveillance teams. All these machines are being safely transported to the counting tables during the vote count, ensuring a transparent process.

Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy’s victory in the Thattanchavady constituency has sparked excitement among his supporters. This seat was considered politically crucial for him, and the results have reinvigorated his leadership.

Meanwhile, results for other key constituencies have also been announced. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) candidate Anbazhagan has won the Uppalam constituency, a victory that is being seen as a significant success for the party.

Election Commission officials stated that the entire counting process is being conducted under strict security protocols to ensure no irregularities occur. Representatives from all political parties are monitoring the counting process.

The administration has also clarified that the results are being announced in a phased manner, and as counting completes, results for other seats will be released.

Political excitement surrounding this election in Puducherry has been building since the beginning, and now, with the results now in, the political situation in the state is becoming clearer. Chief Minister Rangaswamy’s victory will also determine the future course of government formation.
