Proposal to name a road in Vellore after Kripananda Wariyar

Tamil Nadu: Handloom and Textiles Minister M. Vijay Balaji has stated that a proposal to name the new road built over the Pala River between Brahmapuram and Rangapuram in Vellore district after Krupananda Variyar will be brought to the attention of the Chief Minister. He made this statement during an event held at the Katpadi Government Girls Higher Secondary School, where he attended the inauguration ceremony of new development projects.

During the event, the Minister informed about several development projects related to education and infrastructure. He stated that 23 new classrooms have been constructed in three schools under the Katpadi, Anikuttu, and Gudiyatham unions at a total cost of ₹5.92 crore. These classrooms are intended to provide better educational facilities to students and alleviate overcrowding.

In addition, two additional library buildings have been constructed in the Kavanur and Pasumathur panchayats of the K.V. Kuppam union, each costing ₹2.2 million. These buildings emphasize increasing access to education and knowledge resources in rural areas.

Similarly, several construction projects have been completed as part of the development of Anganwadi centers in the region. Three new Anganwadi centers have been built in Thenpalli, Katpadi Union, at a cost of ₹16 lakh. Three Anganwadi centers have been established in K.V. Kuppam Union, at a cost of ₹16.55 lakh, and three in the Ravankad area of ​​Anikut Union, at a cost of ₹16.45 lakh. These centers aim to provide nutrition and early education facilities to young children and mothers.

Speaking at the event, Minister M. Vijay Balaji emphasized the importance of education. He said that school is a place where all students learn and progress together without any discrimination. He also said that the purpose of uniforms is to establish equality among students so that there is no social or economic discrimination.

The Minister further stated that discipline is as important a part of education as studies. According to him, teachers who instill discipline should be respected like parents because they play a crucial role in shaping children’s future. He also emphasized that education, along with discipline and values, are essential for success in life.

He also highlighted the importance of new projects on this occasion, stating that the government’s goal is to develop education and infrastructure in both rural and urban areas. These projects will provide a better environment and opportunities for the region’s students.

Local administrative officials, teachers, and a large number of students were present during the event. A positive atmosphere prevailed in the area following the inauguration of new classrooms and other construction projects.

The Minister’s visit and announcements are being considered a significant step towards regional development, which is expected to strengthen the education, library, and child development infrastructure.
