Process on Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Barry Barmana broad gauge line expedited

Bilaspur. The longest six kilometer tunnel in Himachal Pradesh will be built in Nayanadevi subdivision on the strategically important Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Barri Barmana broad gauge railway line. The process for this is going on. There will be a connection between the 3.8 kilometer Khairian-Mahala Tunnel and the two kilometer long tunnel for Maehala-Jagatkhana. Survey work is going on to connect the 300 meter empty patch between these two tunnels.

To take stock of the security arrangements of the tunnels under construction, the committee formed under the chairmanship of ADC Dr. Nidhi Patel and the geologist team will visit on Friday. After the Uttarkashi accident, the district administration is on alert and due to this, a team will visit the tunnels, which includes top officials of the concerned departments, to take stock of the safety arrangements made in the tunnels.

During this period, geologists from Shimla will also be present. In such a situation, a report will be prepared at the administrative level and sent to the government, so that there is no possibility of any untoward incident in the tunnels under construction in future.

Along with this, complete feedback will also be taken with the officials of the Railway Development Corporation and the manufacturing company on the ongoing process to connect the two tunnels and join the 300 meter empty patch in between. Based on the instructions given by Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq, this team will go on Friday to visit the tunnels under construction on the railway line.

Abid Hussain Sadiq, Deputy Commissioner, Bilaspur said that a six kilometer long tunnel will be prepared by joining two tunnels on the railway line. Survey is being done to connect the 300 meter empty patch between these two tunnels. On Friday, the team formed under the chairmanship of ADC will go with the Geologist of Shimla to visit the tunnels under construction. Taking cognizance of the Uttarkashi accident, this effective system has been implemented.

20 tunnels are proposed on the railway line. In Tunnel Package-1, seven tunnels are being built till Jandauri-Dharot, whose total length is 3.50 kilometers. All break-throughs have been done. This work is being done by Max Infra Company. Similarly, in Tunnel Package-II, two 3.2 km long tunnels are being built and one break-through has been done. Tunnel Package-Three has a big tunnel of 3.83 km long, while a 60 meter long bridge is being built. In Tunnel Package-Four, three 5.6 km long tunnels and one 140 meter long bridge are proposed. In Tunnel Package-5, three tunnels of 3.6 kilometers long and two bridges of 300 meters length are being built.
