Prime Minister Ujjwala Scheme: More than 36 lakh women in Chhattisgarh got freedom from smoke
Raipur raipur news. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is becoming a means of empowerment for women of poor families. Like other states of the country, in Chhattisgarh too, a large number of women from poor families are being given free LPG connections. So far, more than 36 lakh women in the state have benefited from this scheme.
Prime Minister Ujjwala Scheme There was a time when upper and upper middle class families had LPG connections in their homes. Providing such a facility for women of poor families was like a dream. Women of poor families had to cook food in the stove through wood or coal in an inconvenient manner along with the responsibility of handling the family. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, understanding the problems of the poor women of the country and for their empowerment, started this scheme in 2016.

The kitchen environment has become very comfortable due to the availability of LPG. Women have got relief from dust and smoke. They are taking much less time in cooking. Women are also saving time.

60-year-old Nanhibai from the special backward tribe Birhor family, resident of village Bhuiyapani of Lalunga development block of Raigarh district, thanking Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, said that now she does not have to go to the forest. Nor is she forced to collect wood for cooking. There was a fear of wild animals while bringing wood from the forest. There is also relief from the smoke of the stove. Baikunthpur resident beneficiaries 30-year-old Rambai, 55-year-old Mankunwar Bai, 25-year-old Mrs. Durga, 35-year-old Phoolbasan Bai, 31-year-old Mrs. Usha Bai, while sharing their experiences, said that earlier while cooking food, they used to cough and cry due to smoke. Now, after getting a gas stove, they have got rid of this problem. Phoolbasan Bai says that cooking with a gas stove has become very easy. The utensils also do not get blackened. This scheme is proving to be very useful for the family and the environment as well. Having a gas stove will stop tree felling and greenery will also be maintained.
