Prime Minister Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, dreams are brightened by solar energy

Raipur. Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme is proving beneficial for the people of Bilaspur district like the whole country. This is not only promoting environmental protection, but also providing relief from heavy electricity bills in this era of inflation. Anjali Singh, a resident of Ashok Nagar in Bilaspur district, has installed a 3 kW solar plant on her roof. She told that the total cost of this solar plant was Rs 1 lakh 85 thousand. Out of this, a subsidy of Rs 78 thousand has also been received from the central government.

Singh told that before installing the solar plant, the monthly electricity bill of his house used to be between two and a half to three thousand, but now his electricity has been halved. This has given him great relief financially. He said that with the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is a significant contribution in promoting renewable energy and conservation of natural resources. In this scheme, now the state government is also providing benefits to the consumers of Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme in collaboration with the central government.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai’s cabinet has decided to give an additional grant of up to Rs 30,000 in the scheme to encourage renewable energy and provide relief to electricity consumers. Mrs. Singh said that earlier there were problems when the power went out, and one had to complain repeatedly. Now all these problems have been resolved. The setup was also installed within ten days of applying. She thanked the government for the scheme and said that the maintenance of the solar system is very simple and there is no additional cost in it. Calling it useful for every person, she asked to join this scheme.

Subsidy is being received from the government – It is worth mentioning that the solar rooftop plant installed under this scheme is connected to the electricity grid through net metering. Consumers can produce more electricity than their requirement and supply it to the grid, which will make their electricity bill zero as well as provide additional income. Under this scheme, on installing a 1 kilowatt solar plant, a subsidy of Rs 30 thousand will be received from the Central Government and Rs 15 thousand from the State Government, totaling Rs 45 thousand, on 2 kilowatt, Rs 60 thousand will be received from the Centre and Rs 30 thousand from the State, whereas on installing a 3 kilowatt solar panel, a subsidy of Rs 78 thousand will be received from the Central Government and Rs 30 thousand from the State Government, totaling Rs 1 lakh 8 thousand.
