simla : President Draupadi Murmu reached the capital Shimla on Saturday morning on a five-day visit to Himachal Pradesh. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Health Minister Dhaniram Shandil received the President at Kalyani Helipad at around 10:15 am on Saturday morning. From here the President retreated to her official residence at Chharabra, adjacent to the capital Shimla. Will stay here with some of her family members from May 4 to 8. The President will return to Delhi on 8 May.
President Murmu will visit Catchment Area Shimla on May 5 at 11:15 am. On May 6, she will reach Gaggal Airport from Kalyani Helipad at 10:00 am and will offer prayers at Chamunda Mata Temple and Shiv Temple. Will attend the convocation ceremony of the Central University located in Dharamshala at 2:50 pm. Will take off for Shimla from Gaggal Airport at 4:05 pm. On May 7, she will visit Sankatmochan Temple in the capital Shimla at 11:25 am and Taradevi Temple at 12:20 pm. Here she will participate in the Prasad Sevanam program. Apart from taking a walk at the Ridge Ground and Mall Road at 5:50 pm, the President will also attend a cultural program to be held at the Gaiety Theater at 6:35 pm. Will reach Raj Bhavan Shimla late in the evening at 7:30 pm. Here, a dinner will be hosted by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan in the honor of the President. Will leave for Delhi from Kalyani helipad on May 8 at 9:20 am.
Central security agencies took charge
Shimla city has been transformed into a police cantonment due to the President’s visit. Security has been tightened around Jubbarhatti Airport, Anadale to Kalyani Helipad. A large number of soldiers have also been deployed to maintain better traffic system. At the same time, central security agencies have also taken charge. CID is deployed separately in security arrangements. Guarding has also been increased on the Ridge and Mall Road. 1,200 police officers and soldiers will remain in security arrangements. For security reasons, vehicles are also being checked at the entrance of the city. Hotels, dhabas, railway stations, bus stations are also being checked.
