Preparations for Republic Day celebrations complete in Raipur
Raipur. The main Republic Day function in the capital Raipur will be held at the Police Parade Ground from 9 am. Governor Ramen Deka will hoist the flag at the main venue and take the salute of the joint parade. The preparations for the Republic Day celebrations are almost complete. Full dress final rehearsal was held at the Police Parade Ground this morning. On this occasion, DGP Ashok Juneja, Collector Gaurav Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Lal Ummed Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra and District Panchayat CEO Vishwadeep along with the concerned officers were present.
This time 17 security force contingents will participate in the parade. These include Border Security Force, Central Reserve Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Telangana Police, City Army Police and Women, NCC Girls and Boys, Mounted Force, Band Platoon Police and Women Bag Piper Band Squad. Telangana Police Platoon is specially included. Additional Director General of Police Shri Vivekanand Sinha is in charge of the entire parade event. To assist him, Deputy Inspector General of Police Shri Arvind Kujur (IPS) and Commander Shri Prafull Thakur (IPS) will be there.
In the rehearsal, the preparations for the medal decoration ceremony and other programs were tested with an attractive march-past. The Governor’s Security Officer DSP Shri Girish Kori took stock of the preparations by playing the role of the Governor in the rehearsal. During this, the activities of the ceremony were conducted according to the minute to minute program. Along with an attractive parade, the contingents of the armed forces saluted with the Guard of Honor in the rehearsal.
In the rehearsal, under the leadership of Parade Commander Harshit Mehar Parivakshdi IPS, the band platoon along with 17 platoons of the security forces marched step by step in the Republic Day festival. In the program, a cultural program based on the theme of the Republic was presented by the students of the school.
